HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE:

The Morgan County Public Service Commission provides household garbage pickup once a week. There is a monthly fee. Garbage should be placed in carts. (Please note:  Carts are not provided by the county.)

Large Item Pick-up:

Residential large item pick-up is scheduled for the last Monday of the following months:  January, April, July and October. Residents must call the municipal building at 256-355-5476 ext. 0 to schedule a pick-up on these days.

Items should be at curbside by 7:00 A.M. The landfill will not accept oil, tires, batteries or shingles. Air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers must have certificates certifying Freon(r) withdrawal before pick-up. Residents should separate limbs, wood, metal, bag leaves and grass clippings. Please stack limbs in several medium-sized piles.

Please limit bagged grass clippings to 25 pounds. We are unable to pick up large stumps that cannot be ground by chipping machines.

Brush, leaves, and grass will be picked up as soon as possible after the large item day. Please call the municipal building if it is not removed within a week.
