PRICEVILLE — The Priceville Town Council took the following action Thursday:
- Approved annexing 1.24 acres along Upper River Road owned by Deryl C. Sharp, Judith S. Berry and Connie S. Kelso.
- Approved contract with Goodwyn Mills and Cawood for beautification and architectural design work for Alabama 67 and Interstate 65 interchange for 12 percent of total project cost, anticipated to be about $130,000. The town received an 80/20 matching federal transportation grant of $109,000.
- Approved up to $13,100 for purchase and installation of solar school zone lights east and west of Priceville High School on Alabama 67.
- Approved up to $2,000 for materials only for Northeast Morgan County Water and Sewer Department to relocate water lines at turn lane at North Bethel Road and Alabama 67.
- Approved up to $2,000 for aerial photographs to help determine projects.
- Approved up to $275 for two surveillance cameras because of litter problems.
- Approved up to $1,000 for refrigerator for municipal building.
- Approved $125 for membership renewal to International Institute of Municipal Clerks for Town Clerk Kelly Dean.
- Approved $57 lodging and travel expenses for Patrolman Herman Davis to attend eCite Project Training in Tuscaloosa on July 14-15.
- Approved travel expenses for Police Chief Billy Peebles, Sgt. Ron DeWeese, Cpl. Rick Williams and Patrolman Jason Wilbanks to attend eCite Project training in Tuscaloosa.
- Approved $20 registration per person to attend the Alabama Municipal Insurance Corp./Municipal Workers Compensation Fund Inc. Loss Control Seminar in Athens on Aug. 11.
- Approved lodging and other travel expenses for Mayor Melvin Duran and Councilman Tommy Perry to attend the Transportation, Public Safety and Communications Meeting in Montgomery on Aug. 12.
