Priceville clerk

From The Decatur Daily
by Ronnie Thomas

Priceville’s Kelly Dean was one of three officials nominated statewide for Municipal Clerk of the Year by the Alabama Association of Municipal Clerks and Administrators.
Kelly, who has served Priceville as town clerk since October 2000, reached the magic circle by being named the top clerk in District 11, which covers Morgan, Lawrence, Cullman and Walker counties.
“It was really neat and an honor to be nominated,” Kelly told Ronnie Thomas. “I’m just doing my job. I was trained by the best, Linda Duran.”
Linda worked with the town for 25 years before her death in March.
Paula Smith, city clerk of Birmingham for 29 years, took the top honor during the group’s annual summer conference at Orange Beach.
During the meeting, Lynnette Ogden, city clerk of Millport, presented Kelly a plaque recognizing the District 11 achievement.
Town Clerk Barbara Jones of Trinity is president of District 11. Past president is Rita Lee of Hartselle.
